What sets Blanca’s Friends, Inc. apart from most charitable organizations is that 100% of money and items donated to the charity is used for our purpose.  We are run by volunteers.  Our reward is the satisfaction of knowing we are helping others.

Blanca’s Friends, Inc. is a charity I began in March, 2005 to enrich the lives of  patients in nursing homes by providing comfort and companionship through visitation with a therapy dog. 

Therapy dogs bring excitement to a sterile atmosphere, provide a lively topic of conversation and inspire special memories of previously owned pets.

Another aspect of our charity is to provide library and classroom books and materials in elementary schools who lack adequate funding.

To date we have visited 4,500 elderly persons in nursing homes, and we have given 3,800 patients a small stuffed dog.  We have donated 1,319 books and 2,760 school supply items to a school in the hills of West Virginia.
